Mr. Sanchez is grateful to join the faculty at T.R. Robinson High School as Director of Strings and Choirs. Originally from Tampa, Florida, Mr. Sanchez is happy to return home with his fiancé and rescue puppy.
He served as Director of Strings and Choirs at Richard C. Spoto High School in Tampa, FL, for two years. He was on the cello faculty at the Carolina Summer Music Conservatory in Columbia, SC, Adjunct Professor of Orchestra at Columbia College, Instructor at The University of South Carolina, and notably Assistant Director of the University of South Carolina String Project. He currently holds an Advanced Graduate Performance Diploma in Cello from the University of South Florida, a Master of Music in Cello Performance from the Hugh Hodgson School of Music at the University of Georgia, and a Bachelor of Music Performance with Honors from the University of Central Florida, and will shortly complete his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the School of Music at The University of South Carolina, where he studies cello with Claire Bryant, voice with Rachel Calloway, and music education with Dr. Gail V. Barnes. His research interests include the pedagogy of American cellist Margaret Rowell and culturally responsive classroom pedagogy, and regularly presents sessions on his research about inclusivity in the classroom at state and national conferences. |
